Room: capture the whole room, then Just Ask it
Live capture for lectures, critiques, all-hands, interviews, and long conversations — audio, slides, photos, links, and notes in one session. Then Just Ask with sources.
A live room is not one voice memo. It is audio, a whiteboard photo, a slide deck, a link someone dropped in chat, and the note you scribbled when it finally clicked. Room is the capture mode built for that hour — lectures, critiques, all-hands, interviews, and workshops.
What Room is
Room is a live session workspace in CapturedIt. You start it when the room begins. Everything you save during that window stays together — timestamped, named as a Room if you want later sessions in the same pile, ready for Just Ask later.
- Audio is optional. Start with the mic, or start without audio and capture notes and files only.
- Drop anything in while it is live. Camera, photos, files, links, and text — as many of each as you need.
- Caption what matters. An optional note on each capture is saved as context for search and Just Ask.
- Mark the moment. Live notes and ★ important markers jump to that time on playback.
Why people actually use it
Voice memos die in a recorder app. Camera-roll whiteboard shots never get named. Slide PDFs land in Downloads. Room keeps the hour as one library item plus the captures that happened during it — so “what did we decide?” has a source.

- Admins and operators — all-hands, training, vendor demos, policy walkthroughs.

- Designers — critiques, wall notes, and the Figma link that went with the call.
- Everyone else in a room — founders, consultants, researchers, developers. Same capture mode.
How to run a session
Step-by-step for live captions, notes, and dropping files without stopping the recording: How to use Room during a live session.
- Open Capture and start Room (or go to Dashboard → Room).
- Name the room if you will run it again — later rooms with that name land in the same pile. Students get unlimited Room free on Starter.
- Record if you want audio. Add notes as you listen. Drop photos and files as they appear.
- End the session. The save can finish in the background.
- That night (or whenever it counts), Just Ask: “Summarize Tuesday’s session” or “What was on the board at 1:12?”
