How to connect OneDrive for CapturedIt library backups

Link Microsoft OneDrive to export optional backup copies from your CapturedIt library — OAuth setup for M365 and personal accounts.

CapturedIt Team·

OneDrive stores Office deliverables and team files. CapturedIt captures web research, notes, and screenshots with AI search. Connect OneDrive when you want to export backup copies of library items into your Microsoft cloud — without replacing CapturedIt as your knowledge hub.

What connecting OneDrive does

  • Authorizes CapturedIt to write exported copies to your OneDrive
  • Enables per-item export from library Share and actions menus
  • Keeps semantic search, Just Ask, and MCP integrations in CapturedIt

Prerequisites

  • CapturedIt Pro or Vault plan
  • Microsoft account (personal OneDrive or Microsoft 365)
  • Available cloud connection slot on your plan

Setup steps

  1. Open Connections: Dashboard → Connections → Backups & exports.
  2. Select OneDrive and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with Microsoft and approve CapturedIt's permissions for file export.
  4. Verify Connected status on the provider card.

OneDrive may appear in Connections as availability rolls out. OAuth is supported — contact support if the option is not visible yet.

Export items to OneDrive

  1. Open any library item.
  2. Select Export to OneDrive or Save to OneDrive.
  3. Open OneDrive to confirm the exported file.

Troubleshooting

  • Access denied: Your org may block third-party apps — ask your Microsoft 365 admin to allow CapturedIt.
  • Connection limit reached: Disconnect an unused cloud provider or upgrade to Vault for more slots.
  • Wrong Microsoft account: Disconnect and reconnect with the OneDrive account you intend to use for exports.
