CapturedIt Team·
Dropbox is great for file sync and shared folders. CapturedIt is your AI-searchable knowledge hub. Connect Dropbox when you want optional backup copies of library items exported into a dedicated CapturedIt folder — without moving your primary workflow out of CapturedIt.
What connecting Dropbox does
- Authorizes CapturedIt to write exported item copies into your Dropbox
- Creates exports in a CapturedIt folder when you export from an item
- Keeps your library, search, and AI features in CapturedIt — Dropbox is backup only
Prerequisites
- CapturedIt Pro or Vault plan
- An active Dropbox account
- An available cloud connection slot on your plan
Setup steps
- Open Connections: Dashboard → Connections → Backups & exports.
- Select Dropbox and click Connect.
- Authorize in Dropbox — sign in and approve CapturedIt's access to the folder it creates for exports.
- Confirm Connected on the provider card.
Dropbox may appear in Connections as availability rolls out. If you do not see it yet, contact support — OAuth is supported on the backend.
Export items to Dropbox
- Open a library item.
- Choose Export to Dropbox or Save to Dropbox from Share or actions.
- Find the copy in your Dropbox CapturedIt folder.
Troubleshooting
- Access denied: Re-run OAuth and approve all requested permissions.
- Connection limit: Pro includes one cloud slot — disconnect another provider or upgrade to Vault.
- Export fails: Confirm Dropbox still shows Connected on the Connections page.
